And we can finally sit up

I think what has been the most surprising with an infant is that so much can change in just one day.  We are already quickly learning that West is going to do things in his own time and when HE wants to, not when WE want him to.

For weeks we have been trying to help West learn to sit up and he just wasn't having anything to do with it.  Then we learned if we put a toy in front of him just out of reach it was more of an incentive to try.  I finally put my nursing pillow in front of him and he loved playing with it.  He has spent hours a day on that thing and it's just like one day he saw it for the first time and loved playing with it.

And then it just happened one day, like it was no big deal.  I have been so proud of him, he has picked up on it so fast.  If he starts to wobble,  he always catches himself and we've had very few falls!

It has been so fun because now we can face each other when we play and I don't have to just watch his feet kicking and wonder if he is excited or not.  Now I can watch that sweet face light up when he's loving doing something.

It is such a fun stage and I am trying to enjoy every minute of it, because I know once he's mobile the days of just sitting around are over.

My First Teeth

Dealing with teething for this baby boy has been one of my least favorite parts of these first few months. All the drool, chewing on everything in sight, more active diapers, and some days just a plain fussy baby!  I think more than anything, I have loved that precious, all gums smile and it's something I will miss the most.

West has been sporting his first two teeth for about 2 months now, it has just taken me this long to sit down long enough to update a post about it.  But I figured it was time to post some pictures quickly, because he is cutting 4 more right now on the top and in just a matter of days before they will be making their debut!

So here are his first two teeth:

As the next four are coming in, I'm hoping that the front two come in before the one's on either side of his front, because otherwise he is going to look like a vampire for a few weeks!

7 Months

Well life has been non-stop now that this little man is awake more during the day, eating big boy meals 3 times a day, and about to be on the move.  So life has left me little time to be able to send out any updates.  So it's time to get caught up.  I mean I'm a stay at home mom, I should have all the time in the world since I'm just sitting around doing nothing all day right? 

Well here is what we have been up to over the last few weeks:

Getting ready for UT football

Sitting in a high chair for the first time, maybe a smaller bib next time!

Started taking morning walks with mommy.

The changing table has become our favorite place to get the most giggles.

I love mommy's homemade food, but those toes are still his favorite.

Wanting to grab anything and everything.

Hanging out on the porch has become a great way to end the day.

We are getting a little bit better at naps, but he's always ready and waiting for us to play.

Each day he discovers something new and he is quickly becoming a little boy with a very indepedent, strong, willed personality.  I think I'm in for a real adventure with this little one!
